How They Actually Work

Shaving cuts hair at the surface of the skin using a blade. It's fast, but because the hair root stays intact underneath the skin, regrowth is quick — often within 1–3 days — and the regrowing hair has a blunt edge, which is what causes that rough "stubble" feeling.

Waxing removes hair from the root. Because the entire hair is pulled out rather than cut, regrowth takes significantly longer — typically 3 to 6 weeks — and when it does come back, it tends to be finer, softer, and sparser over time.
