So we’re guessing you are most likely someone who has never had a bikini wax and would really like to try it … or you’ve had one before and had a terrible experience. No matter which category you fall into this blog is for you!
Firstly, let’s start by saying that we totally understand the idea of being half naked and having hair removed from your lady regions may be a bit embarrassing to say the least, so this blog post is designed to ease your mind and answer those most common thoughts or questions you’ve been too afraid to ask.
Do you need to remove your underwear?
For a basic or extended bikini line -No, but for our full intimate waxing- Yes, and here is why:
Yes, you will have to remove your underwear- as undies simply just get in the way for the Brazilian and Hollywood, and we want to make sure you have the best results. We’ll leave you to remove your bottoms and get yourself comfortable. When you’re ready we’ll come back in and make a start.
Everyone feels a bit self-conscious…
Remember, all our therapists are professional waxing specialists; they’ve seen it all before and perform this treatment every single day. Whilst we appreciate that being half undressed can be uncomfortable, and you may think you’re the hairiest person in the world (you’re not!); to us it’s all very normal and your worries are totally unnecessary. Please don’t let this put you off.
What position do i have to lie in?
We’ve very much about preserving your dignity and we want you to be comfortable; we won’t ask you to lie with your butt in the air.(this is 1980’s) . For the majority of your treatment you’ll be in a standard waxing position; one leg exposing one side of your bikini line. No intimidating Positions Here.
For the last bit (yes, the butt bit) if you would like the hair removed then we’ll ask you to lift your legs and hold them up. This part takes less than 5 minutes, and then you’re done!
Does it hurt?
Waxing isn’t a painless treatment but with our unique waxing system along with our skilled application and removal techniques most clients feedback tell us that this waxing process is at least 50% less painful than traditional waxing, which is huge!
In fact… Most of our clients are surprised to find the area it hurts way less than anticipated and they love the final result!
During and after your treatment we use protective oils so that your skin is always being protected and cared.
Should I take Pain relief?
Believe it or not, painkillers can make pain worse, because if there’s caffeine in them, it will make your skin more sensitive. The same goes for your cup of coffee, so skip it before you get waxed. Anticipation is really what can make it seem more painful, so try and relax.
How long does the hair need to be?
We say as long as a grain of rice. If you’ve been shaving, try and leave it as long as you can – three weeks would be ideal. If you’re a regular waxer, every four to six weeks is perfect for repeat appointments. If you feel the hair is long don’t bother trimming before you get waxed. If there is hair that’s very long, your therapist will trim it for you to the correct length.
Does waxing reduce hair?
When waxing is done right, the hairs are removed from the root. The hair that then grows back is usually finer and sparser and over time hair density reduces in areas that are regularly waxed. The stubble texture and coarse feel is no longer!
How long does it last?
For every client this will be different as we all have different hair growth patterns however the average time between bikini wax’s is best kept at 4-5 weeks.
Regularly done, you will notice less hair growth quicker and also the pain will be even less due to less hair volume! So it’s a win-win!
Finally, let’s finish by saying, if you’d like to try bikini waxing then winter is the time to start because by the time summer comes your hair growth will be softer, less coarse and much more bikini friendly!
